Many of you have been asking when I will have a cookbook published. I’m finishing up my first cookbook proposal this month (finally!), which means we’ll be going out to publishers soon. Several publishers have already expressed an interest in seeing my book over the past year, which is super exciting. That said, I wasn’t in a rush to get it published– I wanted to “get it right” first. I’ve been conceptualizing a cookbook since I first started the blog, and the idea has evolved quite a bit since I published my first blog post. It is my hope that the cookbook will include lots of new recipes, as well as some fan favorites from the website. Now I need your help and input in the process!
Please comment below and let me know:
What is your favorite recipe on TheShiksa.com?
I want to know which recipe (or recipes) you would definitely want included in a cookbook– the ones you love and/or make on a regular basis. It’s very important to me that the book include lots of new recipes you’ve never seen before. It’s also important that I include a few of the very best recipes from the website– the “reader favorites.” Please let me know what you think in the comments below, I’d love to hear your feedback. To thank you for your input, I’ll be choosing one reader at random to receive an autographed advance copy of the cookbook when it is finally published. Your suggestions will help make this first cookbook rock. I’ll keep this contest open for a week till next Sunday, October 28 at 12:00pm Pacific. Thanks for your help!

Pumpkin Challah!
You had me at the latkes, and I’ve stuck around ever since. Your recipe is a lot easier than others.
Challah Kugel and Bourekas!
My grandmother, born of Hungarian parents used to prepare Stuffed Cabbage which is rarely found in restaurants. I consider it the ultimate comfort food. Though she did use a few raisins, it was not overly sweet. I love the idea of using sauerkraut. My vote is for Stuffed Cabbage Leaves.
We also love the stuffed cabbage recipe!
How to Make Perfect Hamantaschen and Pineapple lime grilled chicken are awesome! You need to pick a faux liver recipe too as I think yours are the only decent ones.
Your Pumpkin Challah is by far my absolute favorite recipe on your blog. I make it every single fall/winter.
Definitely unstuffed cabbage! I’m into flavorful and EASY. I love stuffed cabbage but not the potchkying. This is so yummy and easy. One of our favorites
You have so many great recipes I could not choice just one it will be a great cook book good luck.

Sweet and sour Eggplant- I love eggplant and love this vegetarian gluten free ( sub gf soy sauce) entree. It’s a staple in my house now
Hi Tori!

Today I tried Imas burger, very moist and delicious! And yestarday I tried the latest quinoa recipe with lentils and onion… Yamm!
Definitely the Stuffed Cabbage Leaves. Not only were they a hit when I made them at home, but also when I shared your post with the recipe on Facebook, it spurred a quite lengthy thread of comments regarding the dish’s Polish, Ukranian, Hungarian, etc., etc., etc. origin…LOL. Friends of friends of friends piled onto the thread with their thoughts, memories and variations.
This is sure a toughy! I LOVE your recipes! But if I have to choose… one fave is the Quinoa Black Bean Burrito Bowls. I’m actually making a Mojo dish this week so I’m serving the Quinoa as a side. Also your “floater” Matzo Balls… and your Buttery Hamantaschen Dough… and… oh this can’t be helping you… LOL
Hard to pick a favorite… I love so many. But having just had the High Holidays, I vote for Honey Apple Cake. Turned out fabulous, and everyone loved it.
Rosa Parks’ peanut butter pancakes
Cabbage rolls! Made them last weekend … and they are the absolute BEST!! xoxo Deb
Definitely the shakshuka recipe! (Wow, my iPhone tried to “correct” that to “sharks hula” LOL!!!)
Vanilla pudding kugel
Tori, you must include your recipe for triple chocolate almond Mandelbrot! I left a comment on your fb post saying I’m not typically a chocolate lover, yet I can’t get enough of these delicious gems. They’re so versatile, you can’t go wrong!
Stuffed cabbage!!!! Yummy
So hard to choose, but I guess I have two favorites. We absolutely love ♥ your Classic Hummus and Challah French Toast.
Slow Cooker Brisket with Chipotle Cranberry Sauce…THE bomb! Friends who say they don’t like brisket are converted in one bite. Such a nice break from the usual holiday meats.
The stuffed cabbage leaves and the greek yogurt banana nut bread! Also your classic humus!!
Loved the Honey Apple Challah! Also appreciated your recipe on “Floater” Matzo Balls. I too am a shiksa in the kitchen and love your insights.

Shakshuka – as good as any I had in Israel.
Also love the sweet and sour eggplant.
chumous! and ditto on the paprika chicken
I love the deserts no favourite because they are all delicious
I ABSOLUTELY love your coffee cake cupcakes … I made them one evening and served them for breakfast the next day … they were GONE!! I also really enjoyed seeing the caramel apple filling for Hamantaschen because apple is my favorite filling for baked goods (or strawberry) but I never see either of those. I also was stoked to see the Sweet and Sour Chicken because it’s my second favorite Chinese dish and the Sweet and Sour Meatballs were tasty too. I would totally buy your cookbook … COOKING AND BAKING rocks! I’ve always wanted a cookbook devoted to Kosher cooking, but haven’t yet been able to afford one.
Jacos lentil stew! Yums
Caramel-apple-filling-for-hamantaschen and vegetarian chopped liver
my all-time favorite is your mushroom barley soup–absolutely delicious… we eat it year round, but it is especially wonderful during this time of year!
