Me and Wayne Brady enjoying my Challah Bread Pudding
Can I just say TGIF?? Shabbat is here after a long, exciting, exhausting week! I am really looking forward to a full day of rest and reflection, starting when we light the Shabbat candles this evening.
On Wednesday, we had a small dinner party at my home. I thought it would be fun to share the menu with you here on the blog. A few friends stopped by, including the uber-talented and amazing Wayne Brady.
This is what I served at our gathering. Some of the dishes appear here on my blog, click the links for recipes.
DINNER MENU
Organic green salad with grilled artichoke hearts, heirloom tomatoes, and sunflower oil dressing
Avocado salad with hearts of palm
Classic Hummus with warm fresh pita bread
Persian Lamb Stew over fluffy white basmati rice
Sliced Heirloom Tomatoes
Tricolore Broccoli Pasta Salad
After dinner, we took a digestion break to separate the kosher meat meal from the dairy dessert. During the break, we were serenaded in the living room by our new friend Laurenzo Davids, a gifted inspirational vocalist and piano player from South Africa. He is super talented… what a voice! I’m guessing you’re going to hear a lot more from Laurenzo very, very soon.
After enjoying Laurenzo’s singing, I treated our guests to my Challah Bread Pudding. Wayne is eating some in the picture above. After two helpings, we both agreed we’ll need to hit the gym this weekend… but it was so worth it!
Shabbat Shalom everybody! Have a wonderful weekend!
